The Bayshore Residence, designed and built by Halflants + Pichette, is a 5,500-square-foot waterfront home located along Bayshore Boulevard in St. Petersburg, facing Tampa Bay. Elevated to meet flood requirements, the home features broad terraces and uninterrupted views of the water. As leading Tampa and St. Petersburg architects, the firm delivered the project through their architect-led design build process, integrating design and construction into a single, cohesive effort.
The roof defines the identity of the house. On the bay side, it projects more than 30 feet beyond the main structure to form deep, shaded terraces for year-round living. Supported by exposed concrete columns aligned with the dock, the roof visually anchors the home to the bay. It folds down at one edge to create a screen wall that blocks distant views of industrial structures while maintaining openness to the horizon. Linear openings and skylights bring daylight deep into the interior and strengthen the home’s orientation toward Tampa Bay.
