Bayshore Residence

BAYSHORE RESIDENCE

The Bayshore Residence, designed and built by Halflants + Pichette, is a 5,500-square-foot waterfront home located along Bayshore Boulevard in St. Petersburg, facing Tampa Bay. Elevated to meet flood requirements, the home features broad terraces and uninterrupted views of the water. As leading Tampa and St. Petersburg architects, the firm delivered the project through their architect-led design build process, integrating design and construction into a single, cohesive effort.

The roof defines the identity of the house. On the bay side, it projects more than 30 feet beyond the main structure to form deep, shaded terraces for year-round living. Supported by exposed concrete columns aligned with the dock, the roof visually anchors the home to the bay. It folds down at one edge to create a screen wall that blocks distant views of industrial structures while maintaining openness to the horizon. Linear openings and skylights bring daylight deep into the interior and strengthen the home’s orientation toward Tampa Bay.

ARCHITECT-LED DESIGN BUILD ON THE WATERFRONT IN ST. PETERSBURG

The Bayshore Residence demonstrates how Halflants + Pichette’s architect-led design build approach delivers refined architecture with precision and control. By uniting design and construction under one team, every decision—from structure to finish—was developed collaboratively on site. This direct communication ensured cost efficiency, aesthetic consistency, and seamless execution from concept through completion.

Inside, private areas are organized around a central double-height living space that opens toward the bay. The living room sits slightly below the dining area, creating visual separation while maintaining a continuous flow. Expansive glazing maximizes natural light and captures views of the water, while a shaded entry terrace provides a calm transition from the street. The result is a modern waterfront residence that reflects the clarity, proportion, and coastal resilience that define Halflants + Pichette’s work as Tampa Bay architects.
