VILNIUS CONCERT HALL
Tauras hill is an extremely significant place in the city of Vilnius due to its cultural and historic value, advantageous views, and central location. It is a node between the built environment of the old town and the municipality of Vilnius, and the natural amenities of the Neris River valley.
The proposal aims to honor the historic use of this location as the house of the Nation by focusing on cultural aspects and prioritizing the Vilnian population. Hence, there is an emphasis on embracing its potential as a catalyst for social interaction and the creation of culture.
Working alongside renowned venue designer Alban Bassuet from Presence Lab, it was decided the Main Concert Hall will be shaped by its contents: sound. Originating from the inside, the exterior façade visually resonates with the acoustical systems and form of the interior of the hall, resulting in a form as unique and identifiable as the Lithuanian language itself yet as universal and welcoming as music.
